If you hold a Bachelor of Business (Level 7) qualification, this honours degree programme provides you with the opportunity to gain a Level 8 qualification after one further year of full-time study. The curriculum includes advanced business knowledge and skills to prepare you for the challenges and opportunities likely to arise in future employment.
The overall aim is to provide you with the opportunity to develop the analytical and high-level business skills required to deal effectively with rapid technological, organisational and environmental change in a modern business setting. You will develop a conceptual, systematic and mature approach to the identification, analysis and solution of problems in business/commercial/service organisations. You will also acquire the knowledge and critical understanding of the interrelationships between the different functions within business management.
Minimum Entry Requirements
Holders of a Bachelor of Business (Level 7) qualification are eligible to apply to join this programme.
Modules
Semester 1
Strategic Analysis, Financial Management,, Strategic Marketing,
plus one module from
Integrated Marketing Communications, Valuations, Enterprise Database Systems, Financial Markets.
Semester 2
Strategic Implementation, Financial Management, Systems and Project Management,
plus one module from
Management Accounting and Decision Making, Customer Relationship Management, Managing People and Organisational Change, Business French, Business Spanish.
Progression
If you graduate with an honours-level degree (minimum 2.2) you are eligible to be considered for the Master of Business one-year, full-time programme at AIT. Depending upon your chosen modules at Level 8, you may also be eligible to apply for the one-year full-time Master of Arts in Accounting programme at the institute. Alternatively, you may decide to transfer to full-time professional accountancy studies, also available within the Business School, or to pursue postgraduate study at another institution. Professional Recognition
Graduates of this programme are deemed eligible by the Teaching Council to apply for a Postgraduate Diploma in Education programme at Irish universities, to teach the subjects Accounting, Economics and Business.
