Alumni Association

In the three-plus decades since I completed my own studies in Athlone, I have been struck by the ever-increasing numbers of students at AIT and the impact that graduates from the institute are making in so many disciplines, nationally and internationally.

An alumni association allows that network of graduates to keep up to date with happenings in the institute and to keep in contact with old classmates. In some instances, those connections will have remained intact from the heady days of college, but in many cases friendships will have faded and people will have lost touch.

One of the objectives, therefore, of the association is to reignite those social networks. Another is to harness the power of AIT’s graduates, who can be such powerful ambassadors for the institute. We increasingly hear about the importance of the knowledge society: the Alumni Association allows us as graduates to act as mentors for future generations of students and to highlight the excellent work being done at AIT.

I would encourage you therefore to contact the Alumni Office at AIT with your current contact details. This can be done via this site or by emailing alumni@ait.ie. Hopefully this initial notification brings back some happy memories of our alma mater and sets the wheels firmly in motion for a truly active and rewarding Alumni Association.
