This FETAC Level 6 course has been designed in partnership with the renound French Culinary Institute in New York and Fáilte Ireland. This course will help accelerate your career and fast-track you into the fast moving world of professional cookery. It is intended for those who are already working in the industry and who are interested in a career as a professional chef. Students with a passion for food and a mature attitude are essential.
The teaching environment will give you personal attention, instant feedback and allow you to have hands-on experience. This ‘hands-on education’ will allow you to learn both theoretical and practical elements of working in a professional kitchen. The programme is delivered in AIT's state-of-the-art professional culinary facilities and you will also work in industry in a professional production kitchen.
The programme is nine months in duration. For the first 6 months you will spend 3 days in AIT and 2 days with an employer. The last 3 months are spent in structured training with an employer.
